Well I have been slackin, I have not posted in a long while but not because I have stopped training and not trying to staying in shape! Thanksgiving day I ran my first Half Marathon! By no means was I breaking any records but I planned on 2:45 finish time and I was 2:47! So I kept the pace I planned on and actually felt pretty good when I finished! I was plenty sore the days after, but I got out today for my first run since, a nice easy 3 miles! I owe my running “addiction” to Ben Davis and his amazing story. I ran my first 5k with him and a grassroots group in Atlanta and since then I have been hooked! Thanks Ben!!

In running, it doesn’t matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, ‘I have finished.’ There is a lot of satisfaction in that.

American Legion post 304 5k

Yesterday I ran my 3rd 5k. It was described as a flat fast course which was absolutely wrong! I think the flat meant the pavement didn’t have any bumps or cracks, and the fast was the last 100 yards to the finish line. But here is the good news, I beat my previous 5k time by three minutes!!! This was huge to me!!! 35:45! Next goal get closer or under 30:00!! Next race is in 3 weeks! BRING IT ON!!!!!

About

Avatar This blog is about my weight loss journey! Inspired by www.bendoeslife.com and all the Do Lifers! Stay Tuned there is no telling what might happen!!!

My journey started June 23, 2010 and I have lost 120 lbs so far! I have always battled weight issues and always worried about everything else in life besides me and my health. I finally decided that was going to change when I woke up that morning and thought I was having a heart attack. I had to do something, so I try to make each day a goal, to not make bad choices, no fast food, no soft drinks, no unhealthy snacks, no late night eating, no sweets! VERY HARD! Not a specific diet just eating better. Before I would just eat whatever, whenever and it showed! When I first started losing I didn’t exercise much just focused on the diet and the weight started coming off, then I started walking cause I couldn’t run, so I walked what I could. 6 weeks ago I started the couch 2 5k running plan which helps you build up your running endurance gradually. I still make each day a goal to not eat bad and it has worked. I make my exercise and what I eat a priority and I have seen results. Follow me I love to hear and help other people succeed it helps motivate me! Keep on keeping on!
